BIBLIOGRAPHY

Culture Trip: 10 Emerging Contemporary Artists from Liverpool to Know. “Vicky Dolan’s works are a snippet in time, capturing the buzz of Liverpool city centre, the charisma of animals, or the serene stillness of natural landscapes. Using the classic art style of acrylic on canvas, or pen and watercolour, Dolan’s paintings shift and blur alongside their lucid subjects.” By Richard Franks 13th December 2017

“This one certainly gets my vote. Beautiful application of paint, mesmeric colours and a very romantic composition. Applause! Applause!” Paint Magazine March 2013

TEXTS

‘Sledging’ – Water colour Size: 210mm x 297mm
“This one certainly gets my vote. Beautiful application of paint, mesmeric colours and a very romantic composition. Applause! Applause!”
Trevor Waugh
Paint Magazine March 2013

‘Dramatic Sky’ – Watercolour Size: 210mm x 297mm
‘The boldness of your approach caught my eye. You have succeeded in combining hard and soft edges in the sky, and a sense of recession in the lower clouds – not easy, so well done. We always tread a fine line with watercolour; boldness needs to be employed with real subtlety! I think an improvement might be a greater overall tonal contrast between the land and the sky.
Jem Bowden
Paint Magazine November 2013

COMMENDATIONS

“I can also inform you that out of a total of over 5,000 entries, yours was one of only a few hundred that progressed through to the latter stages of judging, before unfortunately just missing out on the final stage and subsequent awarding. For this you must be commended and I hope you quite rightly feel a great sense of pride for progressing as far as you did.

John Hope-Hawkins
(Chairman SAA – Society for All Artists)
